Welcome to the Official Narrative

Welcome to the Official Narrative

Question Everything. Believe Accordingly.

There’s the story you’re told.

Then there’s everything else.

Official Narrative is an independent apparel and merchandise brand built around that space between the official explanation and the lingering question mark. We create original designs inspired by UFOs, aliens, cryptids, artificial intelligence, surveillance, conspiracy culture, unexplained history, government secrecy, emerging technology—and the absurdity that tends to surround all of it.

Some of our designs are funny.

Some are unsettling.

Some are deliberately ridiculous.

And every once in a while, the ridiculous ones start looking a little too plausible.

That’s kind of the point.

Wearable Alternative Narratives

Official Narrative creates graphic apparel and merchandise for people who enjoy questioning the world around them.

Our designs appear primarily on T-shirts. But we approach each piece first as an illustration rather than simply putting a slogan on a shirt.

The artwork draws heavily from vintage science-fiction, retro comic books, old government propaganda, pulp illustration, Cold War imagery, conspiracy culture and modern dystopian technology.

Flying saucers hover overhead. Grey aliens mingle with humans. Surveillance cameras quietly watch from the background. Robots occupy offices once reserved for people. Bigfoot goes about his surprisingly normal daily life.

The result is a strange little universe where the paranormal, technological and bureaucratic all seem perfectly comfortable living together.

Aliens, UFOs and the Great Unknown

Extraterrestrial life is at the heart of Official Narrative.

Grey aliens, flying saucers, abductions, secret facilities, government agents, mysterious sightings and questionable explanations appear throughout the collection.

But our aliens aren't always invading Earth.

Sometimes they're tourists.

Sometimes they're employees.

Sometimes they're observing us.

Sometimes they're probably wondering what we're doing.

And sometimes they're simply standing there while someone assures you that what you're looking at is definitely a weather balloon.

The humor comes from treating extraordinary situations as though they're completely routine.

Because after enough decades of denials, hearings, sightings, leaked footage and changing terminology, the line between science fiction and the evening news can occasionally get a little blurry.

Conspiracy, Secrecy and the Official Story

The name Official Narrative isn't accidental.

We're fascinated by the way stories become accepted as truth—and what happens when those stories begin to crack.

Government secrecy, redacted documents, propaganda, mysterious agencies, surveillance programs, questionable explanations and institutional doublespeak provide endless inspiration.

We're not interested in telling you what to believe.

We're interested in the question.

What if the explanation doesn't quite make sense?

What if yesterday's conspiracy becomes tomorrow's press conference?

What if everyone knows something is happening but nobody is willing to say it out loud?

Sometimes the best response is an investigation.

Sometimes it's a T-shirt.

Artificial Intelligence and the Future We Were Promised

Not everything strange comes from outer space.

Increasingly, it comes from a server rack.

Artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, social credit systems, digital surveillance and the increasingly complicated relationship between humans and machines have become another major part of the Official Narrative universe.

Our technology-inspired designs often imagine a future that feels simultaneously retro and uncomfortably close.

Machines become employees.

Humans become data.

Computers make the decisions.

Cameras watch the cameras.

And somewhere along the way, everyone receives an email explaining that the new system will improve efficiency.

The imagery may be science fiction, but the questions behind it aren't.

Cryptids Welcome

Of course, no exploration of unexplained phenomena would be complete without the creatures lurking just beyond the edge of the photograph.

Bigfoot, Mothman, the Loch Ness Monster and other legendary cryptids regularly find their way into Official Narrative designs.

But we don't always treat them like monsters.

Our cryptids have personalities.

They take road trips. They hang out with aliens. They get into strange situations. They occasionally appear to be having considerably more fun than the humans.

These designs represent the lighter side of the brand—part folklore, part paranormal culture and part absurd comedy.

After all, if Bigfoot has successfully avoided clear photography for this long, maybe he deserves a little time off.

Ancient Mysteries and Alternative History

The strange questions don't stop with the modern world.

Ancient civilizations, mysterious monuments, cave drawings, lost knowledge and theories of extraterrestrial contact provide another source of inspiration.

What did ancient people see in the sky?

Where did certain ideas come from?

Why do similar stories appear across civilizations separated by enormous distances?

We don't pretend to have the answers.

That's what makes the questions interesting.

Our designs play with those possibilities through alien pharaohs, ancient encounters, mysterious visitors and imagery suggesting that perhaps humanity's history is a little stranger than the textbook version.

Or maybe not.

You decide.

Horror, Holidays and Pop-Culture Parody

Not every Official Narrative design needs a manifesto behind it.

Sometimes an alien mummy is just cool.

Our seasonal collections blend the Official Narrative universe with Halloween, Christmas, retro horror, classic monsters, video games and familiar pieces of pop culture.

Alien Frankenstein.

Alien mummies.

Zombie greys.

Extraterrestrial jack-in-the-boxes.

Aliens riding reindeer.

Pixelated alien skulls.

The goal is to take something recognizable and push it slightly sideways into our universe.

The reference might feel familiar.

The narrative is different.

Designed to Look Like Official Narrative

We're building more than a collection of unrelated novelty shirts.

We're building a recognizable visual world.

Much of the Official Narrative collection uses a retro propaganda and comic-inspired aesthetic with heavy ink work, distressed textures, limited colors and bold silhouettes.

Muted blue-grays, cream tones and restrained accent colors appear throughout the artwork, often surrounded by deep black negative space.

Other designs venture into grittier cel-shaded illustration, vintage science-fiction, pixel art, marker-rendered concept art and other styles when the subject calls for something different.

Regardless of the approach, the goal remains the same:

Create artwork that looks interesting from across the room—and gets better when you walk closer.

We want someone to notice the image first.

Then notice what's actually happening.

Then understand the joke.

For the Skeptics, Believers and Everyone in Between

Official Narrative isn't exclusively for conspiracy theorists.

And it isn't exclusively for skeptics.

It's for people who find the whole subject fascinating.

The believer who has spent twenty years following UFO cases.

The skeptic who loves paranormal folklore.

The science-fiction fan.

The cryptid enthusiast.

The technology pessimist.

The technology optimist who's becoming slightly less optimistic.

The person who sees a surveillance camera and wonders who's watching the footage.

The person who looks at an ancient mystery and thinks, That's strange.

And the person who simply thinks an alien driving around with Bigfoot would make a great shirt.

There's room for all of them here.

Because Official Narrative isn't asking you to accept an alternative explanation.

We're suggesting that asking the question is worthwhile.

The Story Is Still Being Written

The Official Narrative universe continues to grow.

New designs explore extraterrestrial encounters, artificial intelligence, surveillance, cryptids, ancient mysteries, unexplained phenomena, government bureaucracy and whatever strange development tomorrow happens to provide.

Some concepts are inspired by stories we've been debating for decades.

Others are inspired by technologies that didn't exist a few years ago.

And occasionally reality provides an idea stranger than anything we could have invented.

That's why the philosophy behind the brand can be summarized in five words:

Question Everything. Believe Accordingly.

Welcome to Official Narrative.

The official story is only the beginning.
